Dr. Jeongwon Ham ist Frieda Derdeyn Bambas Professorin für Klavier an der Universität von Oklahoma. Sie hat zahlreiche Preise und Anerkennungen für ihre Lehrtätigkeit und ihre Leistungen erhalten, darunter den Regent’s Award for Superior Teaching (2021). Ihre Studenten sind häufig Preisträger bei vielen regionalen, nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerben und haben Lehraufträge an großen Universitäten und Hochschulen in den USA, Kanada und Asien.

Ham ist Preisträgerin zahlreicher Klavierwettbewerbe, darunter der internationale Bartók/Kabalevsky-Wettbewerb, der internationale Epinal-Wettbewerb, der Paul-Hindemith-Wettbewerb, der Artur-Schnabel-Wettbewerb und der Simone-Belsky-Wettbewerb. Die New York Concert Review bezeichnete ihr Konzert in der Merkin Hall als “ein bewundernswertes Klavierkonzert”. Die Frankfurter Rundschau schrieb: “Jeongwon Ham verfügt über eine erstaunliche und mühelose Technik. Sie spielt nicht nur mit unglaublicher Wärme, sondern auch mit großer Kraft.”

Ham entwickelte ihre Karriere in Europa, während sie in Deutschland studierte. Als Solistin, Liedermacherin und Kammermusikerin hat sie zahlreiche Konzerte, Meisterkurse und Vorträge an vielen Universitäten sowie bei internationalen und nationalen Festivals in den USA, Asien und Europa gegeben. Darüber hinaus war sie in der Ausstellung “40 faces-40 years” anlässlich des 40-jährigen Jubiläums der Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung in Potsdam-Babelsberg zu sehen. Die Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung (ein Stipendienprogramm der Freien Demokratischen Partei Deutschlands) wählte aus 6.800 Stipendiaten weltweit die vierzig erfolgreichsten Menschen für diese besondere Veranstaltung aus.

Als gefragter Juror hat Ham bei vielen internationalen und nationalen Klavierwettbewerben mitgewirkt, darunter der Bartók/Kabalevsky/Prokofiev International Piano Competition, die World Piano Conference, der Classical American International Piano Competition, die Asian International Piano Academy and Festival sowie der Sonatina and Sonata International Youth Piano Competition. Ham wird häufig als Jurorin zu MTNA (Music Teachers National Association, U.S.A.) Klavierwettbewerben auf Landes-, Bezirks- und Bundesebene eingeladen.

Sie hatte Lehraufträge in Deutschland, Korea, China und den USA. In Deutschland unterrichtete sie an der Hochschule für Musik Hans-Eisler (Berlin), am Carl Phillip Emmanuel Bach Musikkolleg (Berlin) und an der Universität Duisburg (Disburg). Darüber hinaus hatte sie eine Gastprofessur am Graduate College of Performing Arts der Ewha Women’s University in Korea inne, unterrichtete als Gastlehrerin am Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou und war Artist in Residence an der Renmin University of China in Beijing, China.

Jeongwon Ham erwarb Klavierabschlüsse in den Vereinigten Staaten (D.M.A., University of Kansas) und in Deutschland (Konzertexamen, Hochschule der Künste in Berlin und Reifeprüfung, Folkwang Hochschule in Essen). Ihre wichtigsten Lehrer waren die Professoren Sequeira Costa, Klaus Hellwig, Hans Leygraf und Ludger Maxsein.

Dr. Jeongwon Ham is Frieda Derdeyn Bambas Professor of Piano in Music at the University of Oklahoma. She has received many teaching and performance awards and recognitions, including the Regent’s Award for Superior Teaching (2021). Her students frequently distinguish themselves as winners at many regional, national, and international competitions, and hold faculty positions at major universities and colleges in the US, Canada, and Asia.

Ham has won top prizes at numerous piano competitions, including Bartók/Kabalevsky international competition, the Epinal international competition, the Paul Hindemith competition, the Artur Schnabel competition, and the Simone Belsky competition. The New York Concert Review referred to her recital in Merkin Hall as “an admirable piano recital.” The German newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau has written, “Jeongwon Ham possessed astonishing and effortless technique. She plays not only with incredible warmth but also with great power.”

Ham developed her career in Europe while studying in Germany. As a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, she has given numerous concerts, master classes, and lectures at many universities, and international and national festivals in the U.S. Asia, and Europe. In addition, she was featured at the “40 faces-40 years” exhibition at the Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung’s 40th-anniversary convention in Potsdam-Babelsberg in Germany. The Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung (A scholarship program sponsored by the Free Democratic Party in Germany) selected the forty most successful people out of 6,800 scholarship recipients worldwide for the special event.

As a highly sought-after adjudicator, Ham has served at many international and national piano competitions including the Bartók/Kabalevsky/Prokofiev International Piano Competition, World Piano Conference, Classical American International Piano Competition, Asian International Piano Academy and Festival, and Sonatina and Sonata International Youth Piano Competition. Ham is frequently invited to judge MTNA (Music Teachers National Association, U.S.A.) piano competitions at state, divisional, and national levels.

She has held teaching positions in Germany, Korea, China, and the US. In Germany, she taught at the Hochschule für Musik Hans-Eisler(Berlin), the Carl Phillip Emmanuel Bach Music Pre-college (Berlin), and the University of Duisburg (Disburg). In addition, she held a guest professor position at the Graduate College of Performing Arts of the Ewha Women’s University in Korea, served as a guest master teacher at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou, and was an Artist in Residence at the Renmin University of China in Beijing, China.

Dirk van Betteray (Köln), was born in 1969, scholar, conductor, organist, composer, graduated with honours in church music, doctoral degree in musicology, chuch musician, choir master and musical director, headmaster of “Musikschule der Homburgischen Gemeinden”, “Musikschule Morsbach” and “Bergische Akademie für Vokalmusik”; chairman of “Bergisches Chorfest”.

Reia Gray ist eine japanisch-amerikanische Pianistin, die derzeit Klavier an der University of New Mexico studiert.

Reia wurde in Los Angeles, Kalifornien, geboren und wuchs in Japan auf, wo sie zum ersten Mal ihre Liebe zum Klavier entdeckte. Im Alter von neun Jahren begann sie ihren Klavierunterricht bei ihren Klassenkameraden und Freunden. Sie lernte, indem sie ihre Freunde nachahmte und nach Gehör. Als ihre Familie nach Kambodscha übersiedelte, setzte sie ihre Studien bei verschiedenen Freiwilligen fort, bevor sie den einzigen kambodschanischen Klavierlehrer des Landes traf. Dort hatte sie die Gelegenheit, bei Wohltätigkeitskonzerten und Live-Fernsehen zu spielen.
Nach ihrem Umzug nach Albuquerque, New Mexico, nahm sie ihr Klavierstudium unter der Leitung von Dr. Falko Steinbach wieder auf. Reia hat für Wohltätigkeitskonzerte gespielt und diese organisiert. Erhielt den ersten Preis beim Vocal Artistry Art Song Festival in Collaborative Piano und war die jüngste Empfängerin des Pressure Scholarship Award in Anerkennung ihrer musikalischen akademischen Leistungen an der Universität von New Mexico.

Abgesehen vom Klavier war Reia eine Wettkampfschwimmerin, eine preisgekrönte Künstlerin und liebt es zu reisen und neue Kulturen zu entdecken.

Dies ist ihre zweite Teilnahme am Klavier Festival hier in Lindlar.

Reia Gray is a Japanese/American pianist currently studying piano at the University of New Mexico.

Born in Los Angeles California, Reia grew up In Japan where she first discovered her love for the piano. At the age of nine she began her piano studies from her class mates and friends. She learned by mimicking her friends and by ear. When her family relocated to Cambodia, she continued her studies under various volunteers, before meeting the only Cambodian piano teacher in the country. There, she had the opportunity to play in charity concerts and live television.
Upon moving to Albuquerque New Mexico, she resumed her piano studies under the provision of Dr. Falko Steinbach. Reia has performed for and organized charity concerts. Received first prize in the Vocal Artistry Art Song Festival in collaborative piano, and was the recent recipient of the Pressure Scholarship award in recognition of her musical academic achievements at the university of New Mexico.

Aside from the piano, Reia was a competitive swimmer, is an award winning artist, and loves to travel and explore new cultures.

This will be her second year participating in the Klavier Festival here in Lindlar.

Stefan Barde (*1974) studierte Katholische Kirchenmusik (A) an der Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf und Dirigieren bei den Professoren Georg Grün (Chordirigieren) und Klaus Arp (Orchesterdirigieren) an der Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim.

Neben weiterführenden Studien auf Seminaren und internationalen Meisterkursen (u.a. bei Frieder Bernius, Georg Grün, Gary Graden und Eric Ericson, Finalist bei der “Academy for Young Choral Conductors” Barcelona 2003) nahm er am Eric Ericson Award (2003) in Stockholm und am Dirigentenkurs mit dem RIAS – Kammerchor in Berlin (2004) aktiv teil.
Regelmäßige Projekte als Dirigent mit der Baden-Badener Philharmonie und einer Arbeitsphase mit der Staatsphilharmonie der Krim/Jalta waren Bestandteil der Ausbildung in Mannheim.
Während dieser Zeit dirigierte er ebenfalls die Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie und das Württembergische Kammerorchester. Das Studium beendete er mit der Aufführung der Johannes-Passion von Johann Sebastian Bach beim Heidelberger Kammermusikfestival 2005 mit dem Kammerchor der Hochschule und dem Concerto Saarbrücken.

Als Assistent von Georg Grün arbeitete Stefan Barde u.a. bei verschiedenen Meisterkursen mit (Alpe Adria Cantat 2004, Internationaler Meisterkurs für Dirigenten in Boswil/CH).

Seine Tätigkeiten als Dirigent, Sänger und Organist führten ihn auf Konzertreisen innerhalb Europas, der Ukraine und den USA.

Stefan Barde arbeitet zurzeit als Seelsorgebereichsmusiker an St. Nikolaus Wipperfürth.
Darüber hinaus leitet er die von ihm gegründeten Ensembles A cappella Kürten, den KammerCHOR RheinBerg und die Sinfonietta RheinBerg.

Initiator musikalischer Bildungs-Projekte in Kooperation mit den Bildungseinrichtungen des Bistums zum Thema zeitgenössischer Musik und Musikvermittlung.

Mitarbeit in der AG-Kinderchor für die Region Oberberg und Mitarbeit in der kirchenmusikalischen C-Ausbildung des Erzbistums.

Stefan Barde (*1974) studied Catholic Church Music (A) at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf and conducting with Professors Georg Grün (choral conducting) and Klaus Arp (orchestral conducting) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim.

In addition to further studies at seminars and international master classes (among others with Frieder Bernius, Georg Grün, Gary Graden and Eric Ericson, finalist at the “Academy for Young Choral Conductors” Barcelona 2003) he actively participated in the Eric Ericson Award (2003) in Stockholm and in the conducting course with the RIAS – Kammerchor in Berlin (2004).
Regular projects as a conductor with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra and a working period with the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Crimea/Yalta were part of his training in Mannheim.
During this time he also conducted the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra and the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra. He finished his studies with the performance of the St. John Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach at the Heidelberg Chamber Music Festival 2005 with the Chamber Choir of the University and the Concerto Saarbrücken.

As assistant to Georg Grün, Stefan Barde participated in various master classes (Alpe Adria Cantat 2004, International Master Class for Conductors in Boswil/CH).

His activities as a conductor, singer and organist have taken him on concert tours within Europe, Ukraine and the USA.

Stefan Barde currently works as a pastoral area musician at St. Nikolaus Wipperfürth.
In addition, he conducts the ensembles A cappella Kürten, KammerCHOR RheinBerg and Sinfonietta RheinBerg, which he founded.

Pablo Isaac Betancourt Monte ist ein mexikanischer Pianist aus Ciudad Juarez, Mexiko. Seine wichtigsten Professoren waren Claudia Luna an der Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez (UACJ), Jhany Lara an der Universidad del Norte und Falko Steinbach an der University of New Mexico.

Er hat Meisterkurse bei Olga Kern, Oleg Marshev, Yoko Hagino, Héctor Landa, Jeongwon Ham, Roman Rudnitsky und Maurio Nader sowie Laura Spitzer besucht.

Pablo Betancourt interessiert sich für die Aufführung von Musik des amerikanischen Kontinents. Derzeit unterrichtet er Klavier und verschiedene Theoriestunden in den Studiengängen Musikproduktion und Musik an der UACJ sowie Klavier in der Unterstufe und im Vorbereitungsdienst an der UACJ.

Pablo Isaac Betancourt Montes is a Mexican pianist from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, his primary professors have been Claudia Luna at Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez (UACJ), Jhany Lara at Universidad del Norte, and Falko Steinbach at the University of New Mexico.

He has taken masterclasses with Olga Kern, Oleg Marshev, Yoko Hagino, Héctor Landa, Jeongwon Ham, Roman Rudnitsky and Maurio Nader,and Laura Spitzer.

Pablo Betancourt is interested in performing music from the American continent. Currently he teaches piano and several theory classes in the Music Production and Music programs at UACJ and piano at the lower and prepararory levels also at UACJ.

This Pablo’s third time participating on Lindlar Klavierfestival.

Christoph Maria Wagner studierte Komposition und Dirigieren an der Musikhochschule Köln und lehrt dort seit 1995.

Sein Werkverzeichnis umfasst mehr als 50 teils sehr umfangreiche Kompositionen unterschiedlichster Besetzung und Gattung. Diese erklangen bei Festivals wie den Darmstädter Ferienkursen für Neue Musik, bei Acht Brücken Köln, bei den Internationalen Orgelfestwochen Nürnberg, dem Gergiev-Festival Rotterdam und dem Internationalen Bodenseefestival. Sein Klavierkonzert spielte er als Solist mehrmals, u.a. beim Gaudeamus-Festival Amsterdam. Neben der Klaviermusik bildet die umfangreiche Werkgruppe remiX und das Musiktheater einen Schwerpunkt seines Schaffens. Dabei geht er in Sujetauswahl und Umsetzung durchweg ungewöhnliche Wege, die im abendfüllenden Zombie-Spektakel Night of the Living Dead nach G.A.Romeros legendärem Horrorfilm kulminieren.
Die von ihm eingespielte CD-Aufnahme seines Klavierwerkes wurde in der renommierten Fachzeitschrift Le monde de la musique mit der Höchstwertung von 4 Sternen ausgezeichnet, 2013/2014 war er Komponist für Hagen beim dortigen Orchester. Wagner arbeitet als Dirigent und Komponist regelmäßig für den Deutschlandfunk. Er hielt Gastvorlesungen und Meisterkurse an der University of New Mexico und bei CODARTS Rotterdam. Im November 2024 wird er Composer in residence bei den New Music Days Izmir (Türkei) sein.

Als Pianist hat er in ganz Europa und den USA konzertiert. Er hat Charles Ives Concord Sonata oftmals aufgeführt und neben eigenen Werken den Klavierzyklus Mana von Andrè Jolivet, Weberns Klaviervariationen op. 27 sowie Stockhausens Klavierstücke 7 und 8 für den WDR eingespielt.

Als Dirigent arbeitete er mit Lachenmann, Kagel, Klaus Huber, Nicolaus A. Huber, Ingo Metzmacher, Martin Matalon sowie Formationen wie dem Ensemble Modern und der Jungen Deutschen Philharmonie. Er bestritt Gastdirigate an der Kölner Oper, am Kölner Schauspielhaus, beim WDR-Funkhaus-Orchester, bei den Bochumer Symphonikern, beim Neuen Rheinischen Kammerorchester, beim oh Ton-Ensemble Oldenburg und beim Doelen Ensemble Rotterdam.
Mit dem E-MEX-Ensemble verbindet ihn eine lange Zusammenarbeit, die neben Uraufführungen zahlreiche Klassiker der Avantgarde umfasst. Die von ihm dirigierte Portrait-CD von Younghi Pagh-Paan (bei Wergo erschienen) wurde 2021 in drei Sparten für den Opus Klassik nominiert. Mit dem von ihm kuratierten Format Martin Zingsheim meets E-MEX gastierte er seit 2020 mehrfach im WDR-Funkhaus.

Christoph Maria Wagner studied composition, conducting and piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, where he has also taught since 1995.

At present, his catalogue contains around fifty compositions including several large-scale works for a wide range of genres and ensembles. His works have been heard at festivals such as the Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik, Acht Brücken Köln, the Internationale Orgelfestwochen Nürnberg, Gergiev Festival Rotterdam and the Internationale Bodenseefestival. As a soloist, he has given several performances of his piano concerto with various orchestras, including a performance at the Gaudeamus Festival Amsterdam. In addition to piano music and the extensive group of works remiX, music theater forms another main part of his compositional output. In his stage works, he has a predilection for dramatic subjects and staging that flaunt operatic conventions and delight in the bizarre, which reached its culmination in the evening-long Zombie spectacle Night of the Living Dead based on G.A.Romero’s legendary horror film.

In 2006, he recorded a Super Audio CD of his piano works, which the prestigious music journal Le monde de la musique awarded its highest rating of 4 stars. For the concert season 2013/2014, he was the Composer for Hagen. Wagner’s compositions have been regularly featured on Deutschlandfunk that also coproduced his last CD remiX in 2016 and 2017. He has been invited to give guest lectures and master classes at the University of New Mexico and CODARTS Rotterdam. He has been invited as Composer in residence at New Music Days Izmir 2023 taking place in November.

As a pianist, he has performed across Europe and in the US. He has given numerous performances of Ives’s Concord Sonata and has recorded the piano cycle Mana by André Jolivet and Stockhausen’s Klavierstücke 7 and 8 for the WDR.

As a conductor, he has worked with Lachenmann, Kagel, Klaus Huber, Nicolaus A. Huber, Martin Matalon, Ingo Metzmacher as well as groups such as Ensemble Modern and the Jungen Deutschen Philharmonie. He was featured as a guest conductor with the Opera Cologne, the Kölner Schauspielhaus, the WDR Rundfunkorchester, the Bochumer Symphoniker, the Neues Rheinisches Kammerorchester, the oh Ton Ensemble Oldenburg and the Doelen Ensemble Rotterdam. Christoph Maria Wagner was the choral director, vocal coach and assistant to Steven Sloane for the celebrated production of Zimmermann’s Soldaten at the Ruhrtriennale 2006 and 2007 as well as the Lincoln Center Festival 2008 in New York.

As the E-MEX Ensemble’s principal conductor, he can now look back on many years of fruitful collaboration, which in addition to frequent world premieres has also included numerous performances of many classics of the avant-garde. The WERGO-recording of Younghi-Pagh Paan’s chamber music published in 2020, played by E-MEX and conducted by Wagner has been nominated for the OPUS KLASSIK 2021 in three categories.

Amelie Westerkamp spielt seit ihrem sechsten Lebensjahr Klavier bei Gisa Scheel und seit ihrem fünften Lebensjahr Violine, zuerst bei Maria Manemann-Frowein und anschließend bei Prof. Ingeborg Scheerer. Zum Sommersemester 2021 wurde sie in das Pre-College Cologne der Musikhochschule Köln im Hauptfach Violine in der Klasse von Prof. Ariadne Daskalakis und Nebenfach Klavier in der Klasse von Dorothea Eppendorf aufgenommen. Von 2021 bis 2022 war Amelie Konzertmeisterin des Kinderorchesters NRWs und seit Herbst 2021 ist sie Mitglied des Bundesjugendorchesters.

Außerdem nimmt Amelie mit beiden Instrumenten regelmäßig an Wettbewerben teil, bei “Jugend Musiziert” hat sie bisher achtzehn 1. Preise gewonnen.

Meisterkurse für Klavier besuchte sie von Rainer Maria Klaas (2020, Dortmund), von Prof. Falko Steinbach, Prof. Jeongwon Ham und Prof. Kevin Ayesh (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, Lindlar).
Meisterkurse für Violine besuchte sie bei Prof. Ingeborg Scheerer (2019, Köln) und bei Prof. Ariadne Daskalakis (2022, Montepulciano).

Weitere wichtige musikalische Anregungen erhielt sie von William Grigg, Prof. Dr. Florence Millet und Prof. Eckart Runge.

Seit 2022 ist Amelie Stipendiatin der Deutschen Stiftung Musikleben und spielt eine Violine aus privater Treugabe.

Amelie nimmt zum sechsten Mal am Klavierfestival Lindlar teil.

Amelie Westerkamp has been playing the piano with Gisa Scheel since the age of six and the violin since the age of five, first with Maria Manemann-Frowein and then with Prof. Ingeborg Scheerer. For the summer semester of 2021, she was accepted into the Pre-College Cologne of the Cologne University of Music as a violin major in the class of Prof. Ariadne Daskalakis and piano minor in the class of Dorothea Eppendorf. From 2021 to 2022 she was concertmaster of the „Kinderorchester NRW“ and since the fall of 2021 she has been a member of the German National Youth Orchestra.

Amelie also regularly participates in competitions with both instruments, and has won eighteen 1st prizes in “Jugend Musiziert” so far.

She attended master classes for piano by Rainer Maria Klaas (2020, Dortmund), by Prof. Falko Steinbach, Prof. Jeongwon Ham and Prof. Kevin Ayesh (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, Lindlar).

Amelie has been a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben since 2022 and plays a violin as a private donation.

Amelie is participating in the Lindlar Piano Festival for the sixth time.

Holger Faust-Peters und Irén Lill arbeiten seit 2004 intensiv zusammen und spielten bislang zahlreiche Programme mit Musik der Barockzeit. Dabei stand zunächst Gambenmusik von Marais, Forqueray, J.S.Bach, C.P.E. Bach, Telemann, Abel u.a. im Vordergrund. In einige Programme werden auch Komponisten der Gegenwart mit einbezogen.

2010 erschien mit Anno 1698 die erste CD des Duos. Sie enthält Raritäten aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum von Kühnel, Schenck, Buxtehude, Muffat, Finger und Höffler. 2012 folgte die CD „Avec privilège du roy“ mit französischer Musik vom Hofe des Sonnenkönigs.

In zahlreichen Konzerten konnte man das Duo in ganz Deutschland und Estland hören. Die Kritiken lobten vor allem das fein aufeinander abgestimmte Spiel und die hohe Virtuosität, gepaart mit feinsinnigem Klang und nuancenreicher Dynamik.

Holger Faust-Peters und Irén Lill have been working together intensively since 2004 and have played numerous programs with music of the baroque period. Initially, the focus was on viol music by Marais, Forqueray, J.S.Bach, C.P.E. Bach, Telemann, Abel and others. In some programs also composers of the present are included.

In 2010 the first CD of the duo, Anno 1698, was released. It contains rarities from German-speaking countries by Kühnel, Schenck, Buxtehude, Muffat, Finger and Höffler. In 2012 the CD “Avec privilège du roy” followed with French music from the court of the Sun King.

The duo could be heard in numerous concerts throughout Germany and Estonia. The critics praised especially the finely tuned playing and the high virtuosity, paired with subtle sound and nuanced dynamics.

Mein Name ist Manuel Alfredo Sandoval Rivera, ich habe meinen Klavierunterricht bei Maestro Jorge Cuamba begonnen, dann habe ich meinen Bachelor an der UACJ gemacht. Meine erste Lehrerin war Dr. Nayeli Doussa, bei ihr habe ich zwei Jahre lang studiert. Dann ging ich für ein Jahr an die UNAM, wo ich bei Maestro Arturo Uruchurtú studierte, der immer noch mein Klavierlehrer ist. Bei ihm habe ich viel über Klaviertechnik und Interpretation gelernt, er hat mit Michel Block und Ferenc Rados studiert.

My name is Manuel Alfredo Sandoval Rivera, started my piano lessons with the maestro Jorge Cuamba, then I entered to study my bachelor at the UACJ my first teacher it was Dr. Nayeli Doussa i study with her for two years . Then I studied again with teacher Jorge Cuamba and maestro Juan Velazquez, I played sonata op. 22 no 11 from Beethoven, Bach’s french suite no. 2, Debussy etude no 1, Chopin Polonaise op. 40 no. 2. I played Bach triple concerto for harpsichord and Bartok suite.

Then I did a exchange to UNAM for a year where I studied with maestro Arturo Uruchurtú which is still my piano teacher. I’ve learn a lot with him about piano thechnique, interpretation, he studied with Michel Block and Ferenc Rados.

Alexandra King ist in ihrem zweiten Jahr an der Universität von New Mexico. Sie hat zwei Hauptfächer in Gesang und Internationale Beziehungen. Sie ist eine entschlossene und engagierte aufstrebende Musikerin. Alexandra ist Pianistin und Sängerin und studiert seit über einem Jahr bei Professor Steinbach. Sie hat an vielen Aufführungen an der Universität von New Mexico teilgenommen, darunter Klavierabende, Opern, Theaterproduktionen und Studentenfilme. Sie spielte Repertoire von Komponisten wie Mozart, Bach, Debussy und Chopin. Alexandra freut sich, beim Lindlar Piano Festival auftreten zu können.

Alexandra King is in her second year at the University of New Mexico. She double majors in Vocal Performance and International Relations. She is a determined and dedicated aspiring musician. Alexandra is a pianist and a vocalist and has been studying with Professor Steinbach for over a year. She has participated in many performances at the University of New Mexico, including piano recitals, operas, theatre productions and student films. She has performed repertoire by composers such as Mozart, Bach, Debussy and Chopin. Alexandra is delighted to be performing at the Lindlar Piano Festival.

José Fernández Bardesio, Gitarre

Der in Uruguay geborene Gitarrist und Komponist, Sohn zweier bekannter Dichter seines Ursprungslandes, begann als Elfjähriger mit dem Gitarrenspiel. Bereits im Alter von 15 Jahren gab er sein erstes vollständiges Solokonzert und wurde Student bei der Gitarrenlegende Abel Carlevaro.

Er gewann den ersten Preis bei zahlreichen nationalen und berühmten internationalen Wettbewerben, u.a. Alirio Díaz (Gold Medaille, Caracas), Andrés Segovia (Almuñecar), den OAS Special-Preis, den Orense und Infanta Cristina (Madrid).

Seit seinem Debüt 1984 in USA und Spanien konzertiert er in Amerika, Asien und Europa als Rezitalist und als Solist mit Orchestern. Er tritt regelmäßig bei internationalen Gitarrenfestivals und in bekannten Konzertsälen auf, so u.a. bei der Royal Festival Hall (London),  Hall of the Americas (Washington D.C.) und Weil Recital Hall at the Carnegie Hall (New York).

Aufnahmen bei Fernsehstationen u.a. in Venezuela, USA, Spanien und Frankreich, sowie Plattenaufnahmen in den USA, Spanien und Deutschland vervollständigen das künstlerische Bild. Seine CDs werden bei Hänssler Classic veröffentlicht und seine Kompositionen beim Hofmeister Musikverlag in Leipzig verlegt. Mehrere Komponisten haben  ihm Werke gewidmet, u.a. Eduardo Flores Abad, Albrecht Zummach und Maarten Hartveldt.

Neben Carlevaro, studierte er bei den führenden Musikern Eduardo Fernández, Guido Santórsola und Hubert Käppel. Bardesio lebt seit mehr als drei Jahrzehnten in seiner neuen Heimatstadt Köln

The Uruguayan guitarist José Fernández Bardesio won the first price in many major international competitions, including the major and renowned Alirio Díaz Competition (Venezuela), Andrés Segovia Competition, Ciudad de Orense (Spain) and the Infanta Cristina Competition in Madrid (Spain).
He has made numerous recordings for radio and television stations in the USA, Spain, China and France, among others, as well as commercial recordings in USA, Spain and Germany. His two latest CDs are edited by the label Hänssler Classic.

The German publishing house Hofmeister Music Editions has been editing his compositions since 2010.
Since his debut in the USA and Spain in 1984, Fernández Bardesio gives recitals and concerts with orchestras in America, South America, Asia and Europe. He has worked with the conductors Piero Gamba, Nikolas Rauss, Fernando Condon, Yashikazu Fukumura, Eduardo Marturet, among others.
He regularly appears at international guitar festivals and gives master classes; among others at the Radio France Festival, the Bolívar Festival in London, Nürnberg Gitarre International, guitar festivals in South America and performs at important halls like the Royal Festival Hall (London), the Cologne Philharmonie, the Teatro Teresa Carreño (Caracas), the Hall of the Americas (Washington D.C.) and the Weil Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall (New York).

Fernández Bardesio has studies by Oribe Dorrego, Eduardo Fernández, Abel Carlevaro, Guido Santórsola and René Marino Rivero. A scholarship from the Federal Republic of Germany enabled him to go to the Cologne College of Music, where he completed his research studies with Hubert Käppel.

Meine Anfänge in der Musik waren im Alter von 5 Jahren in einer christlichen Kirche, die ich heute noch besuche.

Ich begann als Schlagzeuger, und erst als ich 9 Jahre alt war, brachten mich meine Eltern zum Klavierunterricht, und von da an verliebte ich mich in dieses Instrument.

In der High School nahm ich an Instrumentalwettbewerben auf Landesebene teil und belegte mehrmals hintereinander den ersten Platz, woraufhin ich beschloss, den Bachelor of Music zu machen.

Derzeit gebe ich privaten Klavierunterricht, unterrichte Musiktheorie an Schulen, arbeite als Musikproduzent in der Kirche und als Fotograf und Videofilmer.

Hola, my name is Marco Isaac Palma Ortíz I am from Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, and I am 21 years old.

My beginnings in music were at the age of 5 in a Christian church where I still attend today.

I started out as a drummer, and it wasn’t until I was 9 years old that my parents took me to piano lessons, and from then on I fell in love with the instrument.

In high school I competed in instrumental performance competitions at the state level, obtaining first place consecutive times, and from that moment I decided that I was going to enter the Bachelor of Music.

I currently work giving private piano lessons, teaching music theory in schools, as a music producer in the church and as a photographer and videographer.
I thank God for this opportunity that was given to me.

Xiao-Ru Lin ist ein taiwanesischer Musiker, der sich als talentierter Pianist, Erhu-Spieler und Komponist einen Namen gemacht hat. Xiao-Ru begann im Alter von vier Jahren mit dem Klavierunterricht und nahm im Alter von acht Jahren die Erhu in sein Repertoire auf. Er machte sich schnell einen Namen und gewann zahlreiche Solowettbewerbe in Taiwan. Trotz seines Erfolgs absolvierte er zunächst ein Chemiestudium, bevor er sich im Alter von 25 Jahren ganz der Musik widmete.

David Mach ist ein Pianist, Klavierlehrer und Mitarbeiter in Norman, Oklahoma. David hat Preise bei regionalen und internationalen Wettbewerben erhalten. Im Jahr 2022 erhielt er den 1. Preis beim United States New Star International Piano Competition. David ist Preisträger zahlreicher anderer internationaler Wettbewerbe, darunter der Virtual New Orleans Piano Institute International Competition, VII Future Stars International Piano Competition, The Orbetello International Piano Competition und der Orbetello International Piano Competition. Er hat 1. Sofia Acero is a mexican pianist, student of bachelor’s degree in the UACJ (Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez). She works like a music teacher in CEIAC, association that help blind kids education.

Christiane Oelze studierte Gesang an der Kölner Musikhochschule bei Prof. Klesie Kelly-Moog und bei Erna Westenberger in Frankfurt/Main. Sie absolvierte Meisterkurse bei Elisabeth Schwarzkopf.

Oelze arbeitete in ihrer über 35-jährigen Konzerttätigkeit weltweit mit berühmten Orchestern wie Boston, Cleveland, Los Angeles Orchestra, Concertgebouw-Orchester, London Symphony-Orchestra, Berliner Philharmoniker, Dresdner Staatskapelle, Gewandhaus-Orchester Leipzig, und Dirigenten wie Pierre Boulez, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Michael Gielen, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Kent Nagano und Sir Simon Rattle. Als Solistin wurde sie bei renommierten Festivals wie den BBC Proms, in Glyndebourne, bei den Salzburger Festspielen, beim Schleswig-Holstein Musik-Festival, dem Lucerne Festival, in Tanglewood und beim Mostly Mozart Festival New York eingeladen. Vielbeachtete Auftritte in Neuproduktionen zeigte sie an bedeutenden Opernhäusern wie dem Royal Opera House Covent Garden, der Hamburgischen Staatsoper und der Opéra National de Paris.

Ihre vom Deutschlandfunk produzierte Einspielung von fünf Orchester-Liedern der wiederentdeckten Kölner Komponistin Maria Herz (zusammen mit dem E-MEX-Ensemble) wird im Juli 2023 beim CD-Label Genuin erscheinen.

Christiane Oelze studied singing at the Cologne Musikhochschule with Prof. Klesie Kelly-Moog and with Erna Westenberger in Frankfurt/Main. She completed master classes with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf.

In her more than 35 years of concert activity, Oelze has worked worldwide with famous orchestras such as Boston, Cleveland, Los Angeles Orchestra, Concertgebouw Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic, Dresdner Staatskapelle, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, and conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Michael Gielen, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Kent Nagano and Sir Simon Rattle. As a soloist, she has been invited to perform at prestigious festivals such as the BBC Proms, Glyndebourne, the Salzburg Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Lucerne Festival, Tanglewood and the Mostly Mozart Festival New York. She gave highly acclaimed performances in new productions at major opera houses such as the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Hamburg State Opera and the Opéra National de Paris.

She was initially regarded in particular as a Mozart interpreter, but also distinguished herself with works of the Classical Modern. For example, her complete recording of Anton Webern’s vocal works with the Berlin Philharmonic and Pierre Boulez has reference status. She championed the works of composers Hanns Eisler, Kurt Weill and Viktor Ullmann, which were banned by the National Socialists as “degenerate music.” She has a special love for the Lied genre, in which Oelze is concerned with the “fusion” of vocal and instrumental parts.

She taught as a professor of voice at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf from 2003 to 2008. Since 2018, she has been a lecturer at the Swiss Kalaidos Musikhochschule.

She realized recordings on the labels Deutsche Grammophon, Teldec, Capriccio, Berlin Classics and Phoenix. Her Mahler Symphony No. 4 was awarded the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik in 2006, as was her Schoenberg String Quartet No. 2 in 1999, and in 2015 her discography included 70 CD and DVD productions.

Her recording of five orchestral songs by the rediscovered Cologne composer Maria Herz (together with the E-MEX Ensemble), produced by Deutschlandfunk, will be released on the Genuin CD label in July 2023.

Kevin M. Baca ist Pianist und stammt aus New Mexico. Er ist ein Musiker der ersten Generation, der seine musikalische Reise in der High School mit 16 Jahren als Rock- und Metal-Gitarrist begann. Dies brachte ihn dazu, Musik auf College-Ebene zu studieren. Er begann sein Klavierstudium 2013 im Alter von 19 Jahren als Studienanfänger an der New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU).

Anschließend gewann er den ersten Platz im PMTNM College Level State Piano Competition. Neben dem Klavier hat Kevin auch viele andere Tasteninstrumente studiert und beherrscht sie. Er hat Cembalo bei Coleen Sheinberg und Orgel bei Maxine Thevenot studiert, beide in Albuquerque.

Er ist Mitglied des Ensembles für Alte Musik der UNM, in dem er auf historischen Instrumenten wie Viol da Gamba, Vielle, Blockflöte, Harfe, Psalter und Portativorgel spielt. Außerdem hat er in mehreren Jazzbands sowohl auf der Gitarre als auch auf dem Klavier gespielt. Kevin hat einen Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Production von der New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM, sowie einen Master of Music in Piano Performance von der University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. Kevin M. Baca is pianist that hails from New Mexico. He is a first-generation musician who began his musical journey in high school at 16 as a rock and metal guitarist. This led him to want to pursue music at a collegiate level. He began his piano studies in 2013 at the age of 19 as a first-year student at New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU).

There he studied classical piano under Linda King and jazz piano under Kevin Zoernig. In 2016 Kevin won first place in the PMTNM college level Northeast district piano competition. He then won first place in the PMTNM college level State piano competition. As well as piano Kevin has studied and is proficient in many keyboard instruments. He has studied harpsichord with Coleen Sheinberg and Organ with Maxine Thevenot, both of Albuquerque.

He is a member and performs with the UNM early music ensemble where he performs on period instruments such as Viol da Gamba, Vielle, recorder, harp, psaltery, and portative organ. He has also performed in multiple jazz bands both on guitar and piano. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Production from New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM, as well as a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. He also in process of completing a Graduate Performance certificate in piano from the University of New Mexico under the direction of Professor Falko Steinbach. He is currently teaching music classes and applied lessons at NMHU and is the current box office manager for the Music from Angel Fire chamber music festival.

At the age of sixteen Cármelo gained celebrity status in Brazil by winning its most prestigious music competition, the Eldorado Prize, in São Paulo. After I moved to the U.S. at the age of 13, I did not play piano for many months, but soon I realized that I could not live without music, so my mother found a music school. Now, I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree of Music Performance in Piano at the University of Oklahoma.

Dr. Yuri Chayama ist eine in Washington D.C. lebende Pianistin, die als Solistin, Pianistin und Musikpädagogin arbeitet. Yuri’s recordings of Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, and Takemitsu have been heard on classical radio stations in the United States and Japan.

Described by the German press as playing with “delicate nuance and great drama” (Zarte Nuancen und großes Drama), Yuri has performed in the United States, Japan, and Europe. She enjoys collaborating with other artists and looks forward to working on the opera production Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana with Opera West in Santa Fe this fall. She is presently teaching piano at Musical Expressions in Bethesda, Maryland, where she loves sharing her passion for music with her students.

Daehyeon Kang was born in South Korea in 1999. He graduated from Gyeongbuk Arts High School and was a member of the Daegu Art Institute for gifted students, as
well as the Youth Orchestra of the Daegu Art Institute for gifted students. Now he is studying in Musikhochschule Münster in Germany with Prof.Koh Gabriel Kameda.
He was the first prize winner of Busan Music Association Competition in Korea, first prize winner of ‘The Music Education News’ competition and first prize winner of
Vienna young artist competition. And he won 3rd place in the overall category of the Alte Musik Neu’ competition.

He has also performed as a soloist in various countries, including a performance with the MBC Symphony Orchestra in Korea for Sibelius Violin Concerto and
Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, and a performance with the Kammerensemble Münster in Germany for Vivaldi’s two violin concertos.
He has also performed solo and chamber music performances throughout various cities in Europe, including many various cities in Germany, Madrid in Spain, and
Belmonte in Portugal.

Additionally, he was selected for the ‘Sound of Change’ Project in Europe in the summer of 2022, where he received full support and participated in
the renowned music festival “Ljubljana Festival” held in Ljubljana, Slovenia and also Novi Sad in Serbia.
He has been selected as a scholarship holder for the “Live Music Now Foundation” in Germany starting from 2023, and he will continue his performance activities
through the foundation.
He is currently using a sponsored violin, which was made by the Klotz family in the 18th Century.

Zhang has been invited to present her research at the OMTA State Conference, MTNA Collegiate Chapters Symposium, MTNA National Conference, CMS Regional Conference, and NCKP National Conference. Ms. Zhang has been a prize winner at numerous competitions including the Orbetello International Competition, University of Oklahoma Solo and Concerto Competition, Memphis International Competition, and numerous MTNA competitions.

Cornelius Bertenrath ist Pianist und Cellist aus Bergisch Gladbach. Nachdem er im Alter von 6 Jahren zunächst mit dem Cellospiel begonnen hatte, nahm er 2 Jahre später auch Klavierunterricht. Seit kurzem kommen auch Gesang und Musiktheorie-unterricht dazu.
Seitdem hat er auf solistischer, kammermusikalischer und sinfonischer Ebene viel Erfahrung im Musizieren gesammelt.
Er ist mehrfacher Preisträger bei „Jugend musiziert“ und seit vielen Jahren Mitglied im Sinfonieorchester Bergisch Gladbach.
Cornelius nimmt zum zweiten Mal am Klavierfestival in Lindlar teil.

Cornelius Bertenrath is a pianist and cellist from Bergisch Gladbach. After he started playing the cello at the age of 6, he also took piano lessons 2 years later. Recently, singing and music theory lessons were added.
Since then he has gained a lot of experience in playing music on a soloistic, chamber music and symphonic level.
He is a multiple prize winner at “Jugend musiziert” and has been a member of the Bergisch Gladbach Symphony Orchestra for many years.
